"Just killer old school punk rock with just a bad ass loud, fasts fuck you feel." Toxic Flyer Fanzine
"I really wasn’t sure what to expect when this record arrived at FNL HQ. All the way from Arizona, with very little info, but the sleeve, insert and dark red vinyl all looked really nice and interesting. From the insert, the band is just a two-piece so I was half-expecting another Garage/Blues duo, but first-play soon dispels that idea. The A-side is a hard-rock instrumental, reminding me of the Dutch band Gore in some ways. Massive riffs, solid rhythms, no bullshit. Not a wanky guitar-solo in ear-shot. And also surprisingly catchy, something that will get you up on your feet in seconds. The B-side, ‘3AM’, starts out as an instrumental before vocals suddenly emerge about half-way through, in a Cronos/Venom sorta style (which isn’t a bad thing at all.) But it’s still the riff’n’rhythm that’s the important thing and that keeps driving all the way to the end. This is one lovely slice of power-riffing. Play it as loud and often as you can!" - Fear And Loathing
"Double Fisted are back with a double dose of goodness. Featuring Bill and Roger from Grissle, I’ve reviewed some of their previous releases in issues 120, 119, and 110. They describe their sound as “whatever they want”—a sound that ranges from skate rock, to surf, punk’n’roll, and beyond. I’ve said before that there’s almost a soundtrack-esque quality to some of their stuff, and that’s particularly true here on the roaring new instrumental track “Carousel.” You might remember the B side track “3AM” from the band’s earlier release Six Sick Six Pack Songs of Slimy Southern Fried Sorry Assed Sickness. It’s a great track with lyrics about being haunted by demons both real and metaphorical. The quality of this rerecording is better than the previous version, giving it a good deal more energy. As much as I love the track, I just kept wanting to flip the record back over and listen to “Carousel.” Double Fisted have mastered these roaring and genre-bending instrumental tracks in a way no other current band can touch, and it’s one of my favorite things about them." "DOUBLE FISTED describes themselves best as “old school punk rock dudes playing whatever they want.” This two-song 7” comes straight out of their garage in Glendale, AZ, with a fuzzy, stoner-psych vibe. But there’s more to unpack with these two sides. The instrumental A-side “Carousel” starts like a demo cassette of a ’60s psych-rock tribute band before switching seamlessly into solid thrash riffage in the style of an early METALLICA demo. Then, around the 2:20 mark, the hardcore skate punk chugging kicks in. It’s a lot, but it works. The B-side, “3 AM,” has more of a stoner, metalcore build to it. The riffs are great, and the vocals kick after about 90 seconds singing about witches, demons, and junk. This track also has that ’60s heavy psych rock/proto-metal vibe until it closes with a quick, hardcore mosh." MAXIMUMROCKNROLL
